Local artist has work featured in museum display

Paul Myhill has lived in The Colony for more than four years and currently serves as the Director of Missions at a large non-denominational Carrollton church of over 4,500 members. But when time allows he creates faith-based art. Many of his paintings are currently on display at one of the nation's most celebrated religious arts museums, the Dallas Biblical Arts Center.

Working mainly with acrylics on stretched canvas, Myhill has 16 paintings on display during a three-month showing and is also displaying some of his work at Bent Tree Bible Fellowship. Interest has been high and some pieces have sold even before hitting the walls.

"This is a tremendous honor for me," says Myhill. "I feel very blessed to have received such a great initial showing of my work and to have the opportunity to see it touch many hearts."

Myhill works out of his converted home studio in The Colony. "I have enjoyed engaging in the creative process right here at my home in The Colony," Myhill said, "I have been offered alternate studio space, but there's a real sense of community here that adds to my joy as I put paint to canvas."

After an entrepreneurial career, Myhill entered Dallas Theological Seminary a few years ago to prepare to become a missionary. He now directs a large mission ministry with an outreach budget approaching $1 million. He views his second profession as similar to his first in that he uses his skills to display his faith to any who are willing to look or listen.

His recent work can be viewed online at www.paulmyhill.com or at the Biblical Arts Center on Park Lane.
