Artist and Missiologist Paul Myhill to be featured at Dallas
October 18 forum Dallas, Oct 2, 2001--
LeTourneau University's Dallas Educational Center will feature Paul Myhill, artist and missiologist at its Third Thursday Forum on Oct. 18 at 11:45 a.m. Myhill will speak on the topic: "God-directed Art." The LeTourneau University Dallas Educational Center is located at 5710 LBJ Freeway, Suite 200. Cost for the Forum is $7, and includes lunch. Reservations are required and can be made by calling Reneé Hyatt at (972) 387-9835, ext. 7015 by Tuesday, Oct.16.
Myhill was born in Bedford, England. A former entrepreneur and management consultant, he currently serves as the director of mission for a Texas mega-church, a role that has fueled his passion for seeing God glorified throughout the world. His art reflects that desire. He considers his dual profession of missiologist and artist as being of the same heart and global goal: "God's Glory." As a "God-directed" artist, Myhill has a deep interest in early Christian symbolism and imagery, particularly the primal visual elements of the faith. He has spent over a decade as an avid collector of primitive art, particularly from the tribal people groups of Africa, Asia and Latin America. These experiences, fused with influences from the American Southwest, his home for over 20 years, have converged to produce a body of work focusing primarily on primitive Christian iconography within rich, complex layers of intrepid color schemes.
The LeTourneau University Dallas Educational Center and the university's Office of Alumni Relations jointly sponsor the Third Thursday Forum. LeTourneau faculty, alumni, current students and guests from the business community are invited.
